MEMORIAL DAY PARADES

Ever since "The Mayor" Paul Schulte and the boys of West End Fire Department headed east down Neighborhood trail to hold a cermony at the gravesite of Nathaniel Woodhull in 1938 , Memorial Day has been observed in a pretty big way in the little town of Mastic Beach. At the bottom of this page are links to other Parade Day photos and stories sprinkled through this website.

These pics are circa 1950 when then Cub Scout Phil Van Tassel marched with his troop 121 and others to the Arthur Clune Post field which you can see was pretty wide open . If you recognize yourself or anybody else get in touch. Have a memorable, safe and sane holiday weekend.
