I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW

I have had this very blurry copy of this photo for some time now. It was taken in Shinnecock, Long Island at the newly opened National Golf Links of America course in July of 1910. It has no specific ID's and just listed some of the people who were in it. Among them was Joseph P. Knapp. My bet on the blurry pic was that he was the guy sitting on ground in the jaunty white hat...WRONG... This copy obtained in the American Golfer Magazine from August of 1910 not only is much clearer but has everyone I'd and so we find our guy sitting very casualy on the far left and looking quite contented. He was just a few weeks past his 46th birthday here, and was the Florida State Golf Champion. He came in 8th in the first tournament held at Shinnecock.
