This is where the first photos of Bonney and his Gull Plane were taken
for both the world newspapers and the December 1926 issue Popular Science Magazine
Bonney was a pal to Joseph F "Dode" Knapp and his flight instructor there in 1917
when the Knapps hosted Unit 3 of the USN Aerial Coast Patrol on their estate.
He returned to the Knapp estate in the early 1920s to start building his dream plane The Gull in one of Knapp's barns
