LOOKING NORTH ON SOUTH OCEAN AVENUE
There are almost as many early photos Patchogue taken on Ocean Ave (especially from this vantage point) as there were of Main street. This is the first time I have seen this one though of a lone Model T heading south. It looks like construction on the trolley tracks is going on at the Four Corners which would date this photo to 1907. The trolley tracks came down Ocean Ave all the way to the bay as well as going east and west on Main St.

TROLLEY TIME
Ocean Ave All The Way Down To The Bay On The First Day Of Trolley Service July 1. 1911. Trolley service eventually went all the way west to Sayville and north to Holtsville but cars & buses put it out of business by 1919. The Tracks Were Still There When I First Went To Patchogue In 1950.
